Wli Waterfalls The highest waterfall in West Africa, Wli cascades from a height of roughly 80 meters into a cool pool surrounded by rainforest. The lower falls are an easy walk; the upper falls require a guided hike and reward you with panoramic views. Local guides often share the area's monkey sightings, birdlife, and forest folklore along the way.

Lake Volta Lake Volta is one of the largest artificial lakes in the world by surface area. A boat ride across the lake reveals fishing villages, submerged hills, and an almost ocean-like sense of scale. Many visitors combine the crossing with a stop at Dodi Island for a relaxed riverside lunch and local drumming.

Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary This community-run sanctuary protects the endangered mona monkey, which locals consider sacred. The forest walk is gentle, and if you are lucky, the monkeys will come down to take fruit from your hand. The sanctuary is a model of community-based tourism, with nearby Tafi Abuipe famous for traditional kente weaving.

Best Time to Visit The dry season (November–March) is ideal for hiking and lake travel. The rainy season turns the landscape an even deeper green, but some trails become muddy.
